What Is in a Tesamorelin Ipamorelin 5mg/5mg Blend Vial

What Is in a Tesamorelin Ipamorelin 5mg/5mg Blend Vial - BioPure Peptides

Quick answer: Our Tesamorelin / Ipamorelin blend is a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder that holds two separate peptides in one vial, 5mg of each. Tesamorelin is a growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) analog. Ipamorelin is a ghrelin receptor agonist. This profile covers what is in the vial, how the two compounds differ, and how the blend is verified. It is sold for laboratory research use only.

What is a Tesamorelin Ipamorelin blend?

A Tesamorelin Ipamorelin blend (also written Tesamorelin-Ipamorelin, or Tesa/Ipa) combines two peptides that act on different receptors involved in growth hormone signaling. Tesamorelin targets the GHRH receptor on pituitary cells. Ipamorelin targets the ghrelin receptor, also called GHS-R1a.

Researchers pair them to study how two signaling routes interact in the same system. We cover that mechanism in Tesamorelin and Ipamorelin: Two Receptors, One Cell, and Why They Ship Together. This article is about the product itself.

What is in the 5mg/5mg vial?

The product page lists these specifications:

  • Compound: Tesamorelin / Ipamorelin blend
  • Strength: 5mg tesamorelin and 5mg ipamorelin per vial
  • Form: lyophilized peptide powder
  • Grade: research grade

Our peptides are synthesized at a WHO/GMP and ISO 9001 certified laboratory in California. The product page does not list a CAS number, formula or molecular weight for the blend, so we do not quote them here. Check the Certificate of Analysis for the measured identity of each peptide.

The 5mg/5mg label means equal weight, not equal numbers of molecules. The two peptides differ greatly in size, as the next section shows.

How do tesamorelin and ipamorelin differ in size and origin?

Chain length of each peptide in the blend Residue counts for the peptide chains. Ipamorelin includes non-standard residues.

Tesamorelin follows the natural GHRH sequence and carries a small chemical group on its start. Ipamorelin was designed in the laboratory as a short synthetic molecule. It includes residues not found in ordinary proteins, such as D-form amino acids.

This size gap affects testing, as covered below. Unlike our CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin blend, the partner here is tesamorelin, a different GHRH analog.

What has published research examined?

The evidence here is mostly preclinical. That means cell and laboratory studies that look at receptor activity and hormone release, not broad confirmation.

  • Tesamorelin: studied for how GHRH receptor activation in pituitary cells drives growth hormone release, and for links to lipid metabolism and endocrine signaling.
  • Ipamorelin: studied as a selective ghrelin receptor agonist. Early research reported growth hormone release without large changes in other pituitary hormones, and it is used to examine hormone pulsatility.
  • Combined: the idea that two pathways may interact is a research hypothesis. Published work on the specific pairing is thinner than work on each peptide alone. For more on that question, see Peptide Blends vs Individual Stacks.

How is this blend tested?

The Certificate of Analysis for this product is shown above. A blend needs more from its COA than a single peptide does:

  • Two identities. Mass spectrometry should confirm each peptide separately, since each has a very different expected mass.
  • Two purity readings. HPLC should show both peptides as distinct peaks, with purity understood for each.
  • Content per vial. The COA should support the 5mg/5mg claim for each compound, not a single combined total.

Two issues are specific to these compounds. A 44-residue chain like tesamorelin is harder to synthesize cleanly, so truncated or incomplete chains are the impurities to watch for. Ipamorelin contains D-form residues, and mass alone cannot tell a correct D-form from its mirror image. For background on reading these documents, see our line-by-line COA guide.

How are unopened vials stored?

Lyophilized peptides are generally kept cold, dry and out of light until opened. Follow the storage conditions on your vial label and paperwork. Our lyophilization explainer covers why powder is the preferred shipping form.

Frequently asked questions

What does 5mg/5mg mean on the Tesamorelin / Ipamorelin label?

It means each vial holds 5mg of tesamorelin and 5mg of ipamorelin, as stated on the product page.

Is Tesamorelin / Ipamorelin the same as CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin?

No. Both blends contain ipamorelin, but the GHRH analog partner is different, and they are separate products with separate Certificates of Analysis.

Can I buy tesamorelin on its own?

Yes. We list Tesamorelin 10mg and Tesamorelin 6mg as single-compound products.

Is ipamorelin a protein or a peptide?

It is a peptide. It is a very short synthetic chain of five residues, far smaller than a protein.

Why does the blend need two sets of test results?

Each peptide has its own mass, purity profile and content. One combined number could hide a problem in either compound.
